Bruce and Carrie's Son is the online journal of a young man who is struggling to figure out the world he lives in. It was created in late December 2008 in response to a conversation with the aforementioned young man's heart. She told him to love himself more. He's working on it. This is his heart; in blog form. Enjoy.

Revolution Time
In the midst of studying for midterms here at my elit(ist)e institution, I got wind of this video from a close friend. That we are not having a much more open dialogue in this country about the truly insidious, undeniably extreme nature of police terror in this country is beyond troubling at this point. Diallo, Bell, Oscar Grant, and now an unnamed young Black woman in Seattle. I have always believed that police are little more than untrustworthy, violent reflections of a hegemonic nation-state obsessed with the control, destruction, and exploitation of Black and Brown peoples; this video is just further proof. Guess knowing your rights doesn't really make a difference in a country that was made by you but not for you. My prayers are with this young woman's family. Ase.
