As I am soon to be releasing (probs over the summer) a hip-hop/spoken word mixtape dealing with themes of posthuman identity, Afronautics, and generally the slippages between the robotic and the African diasporic, this Janelle Monae vid seemed like the ideal entry for this morning. Rife with surrealist imagery and flawless choreography, it's just the sort of otherworldly pick me-up you can come to expect from yours truly over the next few months.
