Bruce and Carrie's Son is the online journal of a young man who is struggling to figure out the world he lives in. It was created in late December 2008 in response to a conversation with the aforementioned young man's heart. She told him to love himself more. He's working on it. This is his heart; in blog form. Enjoy.

10 Things.
This video has received a response unlike anything I have ever experienced. Thank you all so much for your continued love and support.
the messages you convey though your poetry are ones that endlessly need to be heard. as an aspiring writer, i know that it's not easy to be known, but the personal impact of the powerful poems that i hear/read make it seem worth it. so thank you.
I like when you say "never stop pushing this world needs now more than ever". Women endure the pain of giving life and struggle through sexism in the media, relationships, and in the office. so much behind that statement
As a white woman, who also happens to be a mother raising two black sons (as part of our large multiracial adoptive family) I want to thank you for your poem. Not only have I shared it with my children, they shared it with their friends (white, black and first nations), and it resonates with ALL who hear it. A stark reminder to value that which so many take for granted.
Would it be possible to post your words? Even in the YouTube post, there are several words/lines missing and many people who would like to focus on them in written form as well as listening. Thank you again for your impact and sharing.
Your poetry speaks volumes. I love the imagery and passion that seeps out of every word. You are a great orator, story teller, and gift to be shared with the world. Thank you for accepting and sharing your given talents with the rest of hte world to be a blessing to anyone that hear you.
Beautiful poem! Thank you for the time and passion with which you composed it and practiced its delivery. It's absolutely beautiful on so many levels. I will be sharing it on my Web site at www.ThankingOfYou.com Sincerely, Nora Firestone
This poem blows me away. One of my students wrote on Friday that Joshua Bennett was his favorite poet and so I looked you up. Tomorrow's class starts with this video and a lesson on how teachers get schooled sometimes. What are the chances I can coax you back to Philly for a commencement speech?
